FAS Füllanlagenservice could mediate with a new customer to provide a complete filling line. The filler, a Hansa M110/20SV/20KK-113 model from O+H with a filling capacity of 35,000 bottles per hour, was previously set up for small glass bottles with crown caps. In the future, the new customer wanted to process eleven different glass bottles with crown caps and also with screw caps.

The following measures and/or conversions were therefore necessary:

• Dismantling and overhauling the system.
• Manufacturing a screw sealer as well as the required format part kits.
• The existing crown cap sealer was positioned inside the machine on the second position downstream of the filler.
• Assembling the screw sealer in the vacated space.
• Manufacturing an additional star shaft for the outlet area of the machine.

The existing format part kit had already been provided with a quick-change system years ago. Unfortunately no documentation was available for this. With its new laser measuring device, a mobile laser scanning arm, FAS was able to measure the existing receptacle and thereby manufacture precise parts for the new bottle format. Interchanging a complete format part kit to a different bottle format now only takes a few minutes.
